At the FEMIP ministerial meeting held in Rabat-Skhirat in June 2005, Finance Ministers welcomed the recent formalisation of a number of agreements aimed at strengthening cooperation between the various institutions operating in the Mediterranean region. Building on this approach, the Ministers identified the harmonisation of tendering procedures as a priority objective for FEMIP to work on.
Thus, in November 2005, FEMIP hosted a workshop gathering together representatives from EU Member States and Mediterranean partner countries, as well as representatives of the European Commission and the main European and international institutions. This meeting led to joint recommendations, which FEMIP has already started to implement.
